The case still pending though several inquiries and hypothesis. A recent documentary meanwhile has shed new light on the case arguing that Christian Brueckner, a leading suspect, may have confessed of abducting Madeleine.
Christian Brueckner, German national, was named main suspect in 2020. He has not, however, been charged for Madeleine’s abduction but authorities have obviously unearthed some unsettling elements at his houses, like explicit content and things belonging to children. Brueckner is in jail for having raped a lady in Praia da Luz in 2005.
A Disturbing Discovery

A former Brueckner associate allegedly identified as Helga B says an upsetting story involving a Brueckner confession has been told to a German investigative journalist, Kai Feldhaus. Helga B reports that she and Brueckner went to a music festival in Spain in 2008 when they discussed Madeleine’s vanishing. According to Brueckner, he allegedly said, “Well, she didn’t scream”, as Helga B became interested in the issue. Helga B believes Brueckner’s answer was a confession of abducting Madeleine.
The search goes on

German officials are sure Madeleine is not alive; the investigation on her disappearance is still going on. In Brueckner’s house, the discovery of decency-disquieting evidence – children’s swimwear and toys – have further incited doubts. Though legal representatives of Brueckner claim he is innocent, new allegations raise questions about what actually happened to Madeleine McCann.
Madeleine’s family waits in hopes for answers while they develop the investigation. The documentary should shed the light on the situation possibly for the closure of the family and justice of Madeleine 1.
