Erika Kirk Slammed For ‘Disgusting’ Photo Of Son
Charlie Kirk‘s wife, Erika, has been slammed online for a ‘disgusting’ photo of her son.
The widow of conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has remained firmly in the public eye ever since her husband’s shocking death in September 2025.
Over the past several months, Erika has stepped into a far more prominent political role, taking over leadership responsibilities at Turning Point USA while also becoming one of the most talked-about conservative figures online.
But alongside support from Charlie Kirk’s followers, she has also become the target of relentless criticism, with almost everything she posts now sparking heated debate across social media.
And this latest post has proven no different.
Life after Charlie Kirk’s death
Charlie Kirk was killed during an event at Utah Valley University in September 2025, sending shockwaves through conservative political circles.
The activist, author, and founder of Turning Point USA was just 31 years old at the time of his death.
His wife Erika, who shared two young children with him, quickly found herself thrust into a level of public attention she had never experienced before.
In the months that followed, she gave emotional interviews about grief, motherhood, and raising children without their father while simultaneously stepping into Charlie’s role within Turning Point USA.
She also became increasingly active online, frequently posting about faith, family life, and her late husband’s legacy.
Supporters praised her resilience.
Critics, however, accused her of becoming overly performative in the aftermath of the tragedy.
Every public appearance, interview, and Instagram upload has since been dissected online.
Erika Kirk has faced growing criticism online
In recent months, Erika has repeatedly sparked backlash for the way she shares parts of her personal life online.
Some critics have questioned how quickly she returned to public appearances after Charlie’s death, while others accused her of embracing celebrity-style attention following the tragedy.
At AmericaFest earlier this year, clips of Erika speaking onstage circulated widely online, with some viewers claiming she appeared ‘too polished’ and ‘too cheerful’ considering the circumstances.
Others criticized her attendance at high-profile political events and media appearances while raising two young children at home.
One particularly heated debate erupted after Erika appeared at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where critics accused her of enjoying the spotlight too much.
“She’s turning grief into a brand,” one social media user claimed at the time.
Others pushed back strongly against the criticism, arguing that grieving publicly does not mean someone has to disappear from public life completely.
Supporters also pointed out that Erika has openly discussed how difficult widowhood and parenting have been since Charlie’s death.
During one emotional interview, she admitted she still struggles daily with the trauma of losing her husband so suddenly.
“One day you’re collapsed on the floor crying,” she said.
“The next you’re trying to create normal moments for your children.”
Still, the scrutiny surrounding her social media presence has only intensified.

Emotional posts continue to divide opinion
Much of the criticism aimed at Erika centers around the way she includes her children in social media posts.
Over the past few months, she has shared several emotional family updates featuring moments with her son and daughter, often referencing Charlie’s memory in the captions.
Some followers view the posts as heartfelt glimpses into a grieving family trying to move forward after unimaginable loss.
Others see them very differently.
One recent upload showing Erika reflecting on ‘the blessings hidden in ordinary days’ sparked accusations that she was using her children for sympathy and engagement online.
“Every single post feels more performative than the last,” one critic commented.
Another wrote: “These kids are becoming props at this point.”
Supporters quickly defended her, however, arguing that grieving parents should not be policed over how they choose to share family moments publicly.
“She lost her husband and the father of her children,” one fan responded. “People need to leave her alone.”
But despite the ongoing debate, Erika has continued posting personal moments from her family life.
And now, one particular image has triggered a fresh wave of outrage online.
Critics accuse Erika of posting a ‘disgusting’ photo
The backlash began after Erika uploaded a new Instagram ‘photo dump’ featuring moments from her recent travels, family life, and work with Turning Point USA.
Among the collection of photos was one image that immediately caught people’s attention, She Finds reports.
The photo showed Erika standing inside Charlie Kirk’s former office while holding their young son in her arms.
With her back turned toward the camera, Erika wore a black satin bomber jacket, jeans, and a baseball cap while standing in the room where Charlie frequently recorded videos before his death.
Many followers interpreted the image as an emotional tribute to Charlie’s legacy and his role as a father.
Others reacted with outrage. Social media users quickly flooded the comments section, accusing Erika of using her children and grief to attract sympathy online.
“This is diabolical,” one critic wrote.
Another commented: “We see right through you.”
“Using your children for attention is disgusting,” someone else claimed.
Others accused her of carefully curating emotional imagery for engagement.
“As soon as people criticize her, suddenly there’s another dramatic family post,” one person alleged.
Another wrote: “This all feels incredibly manufactured.”
Supporters, however, argued that the backlash itself had become deeply cruel.
“She’s allowed to share photos with her own children,” one follower responded.
