The night was full of amazing performances, beautiful clothes, and a surprise star moment that had everyone talking. Keanu Reeves, who is famous for his roles in The Matrix and John Wick, was the surprise star of the night when he accidentally got engaged in a fun and memorable moment during the live event.
Reeves was at the ceremony because he and his old friend Alex Winter, who was also in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, are going to star together in the Broadway drama Waiting for Godot. Things took an unexpected turn during a lively dance number from the musical Just In Time, which Jonathan Groff performed. Groff jumped off the stage and into the crowd, where he saw Reeves sitting right in front of him.
The Fun Surprise
Groff jumped up on the armrests of Keanu’s chair, facing the crowd, and even appeared to stroke Reeves’ face and torso, which made the crowd giggle. Reeves’ comical reply, with his eyes wide and a look of fake surprise, was worth its weight in gold. He raised his hands to make the iconic “horns of rock” motion, totally embracing the surprise.
