Sarah felt blessed because she had a loving husband, two lovely children, and a good life. But her world fell apart when she heard her husband Ethan bragging to his coworkers about how he was using her. He called her his “ugly wife” and brags about leaving her at home to watch the kids while he goes out with other women.
Sarah chose to do something about it herself because she felt so hurt and betrayed. Instead of talking to Ethan right away, she gathered proof of his cheating and financial fraud. She found pictures of him with other women and papers that showed what he was doing in secret.
Sarah waited for the right time to act because she had a plan. She had a treat ready for Ethan when he got home from work. She took him to the living room, where a slideshow of photos that could be used against him was ready. When Ethan realised he was being caught, his pride quickly turned to fear.
Sarah stayed cool and collected as she told them she had hired a divorce lawyer. It was clear what would happen: Ethan would lose his house and car, and a big chunk of his pay would go to child support.
Ethan begged Sarah to forgive him, but she was set on her goal. He threw away everything she gave him. Since their marriage was over, Ethan had to deal with the results of what he did.
A few months later, Sarah’s friend told her that Ethan was having a hard time and was couch-surfing to pay his bills. The “pretty ones” had left him, leaving him to clean up the mess he had made.
For Sarah, things were going very well. She started dating again and fell in love with needlework all over again. She also loved seeing her kids smile because she knew they were raised in a loving and respectful home.
Ethan thought he broke Sarah, but he broke himself in the end. And Sarah wasn’t sorry.
One thing that her story shows is how strong and tough women can be when they refuse to be used. Sarah took back control of her life by standing up for herself. She was free from the bad relationship that had been bothering her for a long time and began a new phase.
