Finding out what’s really going on with the mysterious eggs

I went to my husband Owen’s grave every Sunday for a year, looking for comfort in the quiet times we shared. But something changed three months ago. Unexpectedly, eggs would show up broken against his gravestone, making me sad and confused.

At first, I thought it was a mean joke, but as it went on, I became determined to catch the person who was doing it. The graveyard staff didn’t seem interested, and since there were no cameras, I had to look into it on my own.

I went to the cemetery early the night before Owen’s death date in the hopes of seeing the person who threw the eggs in action. As I got closer to his grave, I saw eggshells all over the place and a person standing nearby.

When I spoke to them, my voice shook, and to my surprise, it was my sister Madison. She was very scared, and her hands were shaking as she held on to another egg.

What Madison told me shocked me to my core. She said Owen cheated on her and promised her a future and money, but after he died, he left her with nothing. I felt my world fall apart when she spoke those words.

I thought back to Owen’s mysterious business trips and quiet phone calls, and for a moment I began to question everything. But something didn’t make sense.

Carly, Madison’s daughter, told me she didn’t believe what her mother was saying. Carly thought that Madison wanted to hurt me because she was angry and jealous of me.

As I thought about what Carly said, I realised that Madison’s claims might not be true. I couldn’t let her anger cloud my thoughts of Owen.

When I looked at an old picture of the two of us, Owen’s smile made me feel better. I knew our kids loved their dad, and I wasn’t going to let Madison’s anger affect how they remembered him.

Feeling more at ease, I went back to the cemetery the next Sunday, put fresh flowers on Owen’s grave, and quietly thanked Madison for being such a bad influence.

I felt better in the silence because I knew that my love for Owen had not changed, even though there was pain and mystery around me.

Would Madison ever be at peace, or would her anger keep eating her up? Time would tell, but I had my memories back, and nothing could ever take that away.
