There was more to Will Reeve’s wedding weekend than just the typical celebration excitement.
The ABC News correspondent participated in a ceremony that was pleasant and quietly meaningful while surrounded by family and old coworkers.
Through images and videos posted on social media, visitors provided a window into the mood, even though the majority of the details were kept confidential.
Will’s wearing of an item that had once belonged to his father was one particularly noteworthy personal gesture.
Within the Ceremonies
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Will married Amanda Dubin in a stunning ceremony held in Miami. Several of his coworkers from “Good Morning America” and ABC News, including Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer, and Gio Benitez, attended the wedding, according to People.
The outdoor wedding provided a sophisticated and cozy setting with tropical vegetation and dazzling lights.
A night full of dancing, music, and personal touches was captured on guests’ Instagram Stories. A caring touch was added to the celebration by placing handwritten notes at each guest’s seat.
Although there aren’t many pictures or specifics from the wedding that have been made public, the groom himself did disclose one intimate tidbit beforehand.
Will talked about his plans to pay tribute to his late father, Christopher Reeve, in an interview with People in March 2025. “I’ll be wearing his cufflinks,” he declared.
Best recognized for playing Superman, Christopher passed away in 2004 as a result of complications from a spinal cord injury. Will’s mother, Dana Reeve, lost her fight with lung cancer in 2006.
The late couple was memorialized through deliberate, quiet moments even when they were not physically present.
Prior to the wedding, on November 8, 2025, Will and Amanda became engaged. Two days later, they announced the good news in a joint Instagram post that included pictures from the romantic proposal and a small celebration with close friends and family.
One of the pictures showed the journalist kneeling and popping the question to Amanda in front of a candlelight background, with the Empire State Building in the background. Amanda just wrote, “Us 🤍,” as the caption.
Images of the pair cuddling, celebrating with loved ones, and showing off Amanda’s engagement ring were all featured on the carousel. Surrounded by white candles and red flowers, a cellist performed close by, reflecting the coziness and closeness of the evening.
Then, Will stated in a statement to People, “Friday was the happiest night of our lives and we can’t wait to spend forever together.”
Leaving His Own Legacy
Will wrote a piece for Good Morning America in June 2021, years before the engagement and wedding, in which he reflected on his early years, his father’s history, and what it meant to forge his own way.
Will remembered watching a wildlife documentary his father hosted on the family’s VHS as a child and wearing it out. His father’s presence on film captivated him as he repeatedly watched it. He wrote: “Like the man on my screen, I dreamed of seeing whales up close when I grew older since I fell in love with them and they are still my favorite animal. Even better, with him.

He had always wanted to view whales with his father, but that chance never materialized. Christopher died at the age of twelve after becoming disabled when Will was not yet three.
They consequently lost out on many of the customary father-son experiences, such as meals in the city, prom pictures, playing catch, learning to drive, and college visits.
Will nevertheless managed to pay tribute to his father. He realized that lifelong desire on Father’s Day in 2021 by getting up close and personal with whales in Alaska. He claimed to have sensed his father’s presence next to him at that very moment.
Will battled to uphold his parents’ legacy in the years following their deaths.
Initially, he felt that the best course of action was to uphold all of his father’s values without distancing himself from his father. As he attempted to live up to a legacy that millions of people revered, that notion put a subtle but persistent pressure on him.
Will eventually realized that imitating his father wasn’t the way to honor him. It was about establishing himself as an individual. He went on to say that living that truth and realizing who you are is “the ultimate form of honor.”
Will, who is in his forties, is still carrying on his parents’ heritage. “But I find peace and strength in the fact that the greatest gift I can give my dad is to keep him in my heart while I follow it wherever it leads me,” he stated.
