Donald Trump’s Portrait Sparks Controversy

In a recent outburst, former President Donald Trump has demanded that his portrait be removed from the Colorado State Capitol. The portrait, painted by artist Sarah Boardman, has been hanging alongside other presidential portraits since 2019.

Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to express his discontent with the portrait. He claimed that the artwork was “purposefully distorted” and that he looked “truly the worst” in it. Trump also took a jab at the artist, saying that she must have lost her talent with age.

Interestingly, Boardman had previously painted a portrait of former President Barack Obama, which Trump acknowledged was a good job. However, he felt that his own portrait did not meet the same standards.

The controversy surrounding the portrait has sparked a reaction from Governor Jared Polis’s office. A spokesperson responded, saying that they were surprised to learn of Trump’s interest in the Colorado State Capitol’s artwork.

Despite the backlash, Trump remains adamant that the portrait should be removed. He claimed that many people from Colorado had complained about the artwork and that he was speaking on their behalf.

The portrait has been a part of the Colorado State Capitol’s collection since 2019, and it remains to be seen whether Trump’s demands will be met.
