When Matt was first rescued, he was in a pitiful state. His fur was severely matted, with thick clumps of hair tangled together, causing him immense discomfort. The matting was so severe that it had grown into his skin, and his nails were over two inches long. The poor dog was also anemic and had severe bruises on his body.
Despite the challenges, the team at the South Plains SPCA was determined to help Matt. They sedated him and carefully began to cut away the matted fur, revealing a shocking three pounds of tangled hair. The process was painstaking, but the end result was well worth it.
