A Place for Andrew to Live Forever”

Kevin and Dominique Gill, a kind couple from Tennessee, began living with 12-year-old Andrew in 2018. Andrew had been in foster care for six rough years, seeing his four brothers get adopted while he stayed by himself.

At first, Andrew had a hard time adjusting. He locked himself in his room and pushed Kevin and Dominique away when they tried to talk to him. But the couple knew how much pain he was in and kept going.

A turning point came when Andrew became close with the Gills’ son Joc over their love of snacks and video games. Their friendship grew, helping Andrew get over his difficult past and look forward to a bright future.

Andrew left the Gills to look for another adoption chance after living with them for more than a year. But when that didn’t work out, Kevin and Dominique realised that Andrew was the one they loved. With signs and flowers, they planned a surprise reunion in the park and asked Andrew to become a permanent member of their family.

Andrew accepted right away, even though he was overwhelmed. He had changed because of the Gills’ love and acceptance. She said, “People often got scared away by Andrew’s file, but we saw beyond the trauma to a good child deserving of love.”

For the Gills, family didn’t care about race or religion. It was the same with Andrew as it was with Joc. Kevin and Dominique showed that love can heal even the deepest wounds as they started this new part of their lives together.

Without fail, Andrew’s story shows how powerful constant support and love can be. He finally found comfort, a place to join, and a family for life in the Gills’ home.

Today, Andrew and Joc can’t live without each other. Their bond is stronger because they’ve been through a lot together and their family loves them no matter what. Children in foster care who are looking for forever homes can find hope in the Gills’ story, which shows that love has no limits.
