A Halloween revenge story called “Neighbourhood Nightmare”

Gary and Brenda, my neighbours, don’t love Halloween as much as I do. They’ve been upset about my yard, Christmas lights, and decorations for years. They behaved like they were entitled to everything.

I went all out for Halloween this year by making a spooky maze and a big inflatable witch. Gary and Brenda, on the other hand, had a bad news for me. Along with a mean note, they dumped their rotten Halloween food on my lawn.

Furious, I stomped over to their house and demanded to know what was going on. Gary just rolled his eyes and said that sharing their decorations was a “favour” for me.

I came up with a plan that night. Putting the rotting decorations on Gary and Brenda’s lawn with a mocking note was the last thing I did.

A few days later, Brenda called, upset. Due to rat populations and neglecting their property, they were facing fines and being kicked out. The homeowners association had had enough.

I showed my security video, which proved they were the ones who caused the trouble. Their claims were not taken seriously by the HOA, and Gary and Brenda had to sell their house.

A pang of guilt went through me as they walked away, tired and beaten. But I knew they got what they deserved because of how smug they looked and how privileged they acted.

I’m going to be even bigger next Halloween.
