A little girl walked up to her mom with a curious look on her face and was ready to tell her a secret. “Mummy, when you were at work, a strange lady came over,” she said. Her mother was busy, so she said, “Not now, dear.” “Wait until Dad gets home.”
Mummy told the little girl to keep talking when Daddy got home. “Now, dear, tell us what happened with Daddy and the strange lady.”
Daddy was about to speak, but Mummy stopped him and said, “Be quiet. I’ll talk to my lawyer in the morning.” “Go on, dear.”
The little girl told her story in a sweet way. “Dad told me to stay downstairs, but I went with them.” Between the steps, I saw them kiss and hug each other. They locked the door to your bedroom and went in, but I broke the key and looked in.
Mummy’s voice changed from worry to laughter. “Smart girl!” What could you see through the hole in the door?”
The little girl said, “They kept hugging and kissing, took off their clothes, and then the lady got on the bed and Daddy got on top of her.”
It got Mummy’s attention. “And then what happened?”
The girl’s answer was simple and straight-forward. “They did what you and Uncle Jack did when Daddy was in Vancouver last year.”
There was stress in the room that couldn’t be spoken, and the little girl’s words, which were innocent but telling, made it quiet. The look on Mummy’s face suggested that she was surprised, amused, and a little curious. The outcome of this unexpected talk was still unknown.
