Revenge at 30,000 Feet: A Tale of Petty Retribution

As I settled into my seat on the plane, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. My husband, Alton, and I were finally heading home after a week-long visit with his parents. But our peaceful flight was short-lived, thanks to a rude passenger who insisted on putting her bare feet on Alton’s seat.

At first, Alton tried to politely ask the woman to remove her feet, but she simply laughed and ignored him. I could see his patience wearing thin, and I knew I had to do something. That’s when petty Crystal made an appearance.

As the beverage trolley made its way down the aisle, I saw my chance. I ordered a bottle of water and a gin and tonic for Alton, and then I put my plan into action. I unscrewed the water bottle cap and poured half of it onto the woman’s bag, which was wedged between her seat and Alton’s. The fabric darkened immediately.

But I wasn’t done yet. I took Alton’s drink and, with a casual motion, emptied it onto the woman’s feet. She shrieked in disgust, jerking her feet back. When she demanded to know if I had intentionally spilled the drink, I feigned innocence, telling her it was just turbulence.

The rest of the flight was peaceful, with the woman keeping her feet firmly on the floor. As we disembarked, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Sometimes, a little petty revenge is just what you need to make a point.

As we strolled through the terminal, Alton turned to me and said, “You know, I haven’t seen petty Crystal in a while.” I smiled and replied, “Well, desperate times call for desperate measures.” It was a small act of retribution, but it was enough to make our flight a little more bearable.

So, what would you have done in our situation? Would you have stood up for yourself, or would you have let the rude passenger get away with it? Sometimes, it’s the small acts of defiance that can make all the difference.
